BOSTON, Massachusetts — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, construction and consulting firm, celebrated the opening of its new Greater Boston office with clients, community leaders and employee-owners during an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 30.

Located at 85 Wells Ave. in Newton, the new space allows for more than 100 employees as Burns & McDonnell continues to expand its presence in Greater Boston and strengthens its foundation to serve clients throughout the Northeast. The office supports work spanning grid modernization, environmental permitting and resiliency, mission-critical infrastructure, life sciences, manufacturing and other complex infrastructure needs.

As Burns & McDonnell continues to build its presence in the region, Kent Herzog has stepped into a new role leading the Boston office, with a focus on developing and growing the local team and strengthening client relationships by connecting them with resources and capabilities from across the firm.

“Kent has been instrumental in building the momentum we’re seeing across the Northeast region,” says Jason Cabral, vice president and Northeast region general manager at Burns & McDonnell. “He brings a strong understanding of our clients and our people, along with a clear vision for where we can go next. Just as importantly, he knows how to bring people together and build the lasting relationships that are essential to our continued growth in the region.”

Newton Mayor Marc C. Laredo joined Burns & McDonnell leaders and employee-owners to commemorate the new space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
