Located in the heart of Greater Boston, our Boston office serves as a strategic Northeast hub delivering integrated engineering, environmental, consulting and construction services for complex infrastructure projects across New England and beyond. We support utilities, developers, public agencies, manufacturers, higher education institutions and private industry clients as they navigate evolving infrastructure, resiliency and growth challenges.

From grid modernization and environmental permitting to mission-critical infrastructure and life sciences expansion, our teams help clients move projects from concept through construction with confidence.
Our Boston office connects to the full complement of Burns & McDonnell services, from planning, permitting and engineering to program management, engineer-procure-construct project delivery, construction, startup and commissioning. We also deliver business, technology and security consulting services via 1898 & Co.
We specialize in:
- Power: Energy transition projects, including campus decarbonization; renewable energy infrastructure, including utility-scale solar, energy storage and grid integration; and grid modernization, including electrical transmission, substations, distribution systems and utility infrastructure project delivery
- Environmental services: Permitting, compliance, stakeholder management, public involvement, regulatory coordination, natural resource studies and coastal resilience planning
- Mission-critical facilities: Data centers, critical power infrastructure and resilient utility systems
