Our team provided engineering and program management services for Phase I of Eversource’s Cape Cod Solution (CCS) program. The CCS transmission program strengthens the electric grid on Cape Cod and readies it to support future clean energy interconnections.

Phase I of the program was the first of Eversource Energy’s major transmission investment programs co-optimized to strengthen the grid while also supporting future clean energy interconnection. This new 12.5-mile, 115-kV transmission line with supporting upgrades to two substations was completed in May 2024. It delivered a more reliable, resilient grid that Cape Cod and Massachusetts customers expect.

Phase I was placed in-service without a lost-time incident, in compliance with all regulatory and non-regulatory requirements, ahead of schedule and within budget. Our team’s role encompassed program management and construction oversight services for Phase I, including project management, project controls, contract administration support, siting and permitting support, and construction management, compliance support, and outage planning support.

The project was also recognized for the timeliness of financial closeout and project completion by Eversource executive leadership, a key milestone for Eversource’s first co-optimization of significant capital reliability and interconnection developer investment.
