HOUSTON, Texas — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture and construction firm, has promoted Bryan Phillips to lead its Construction Group for the South Central Region headquartered in Houston. Phillips succeeds Jeff Allen, who was appointed to lead direct-hire initiatives nationally.

“We are excited to have Bryan lead our region’s Construction Group,” said Allen Xi, senior vice president and general manager of the Houston office.  “Bryan has been an integral part of our team and has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, strategic thinking, and leadership qualities throughout multiple roles in engineering over the years.” 

Phillips joined Burns & McDonnell in 2002 and in his most recent role served as the firm’s department manager and construction director in Houston for oil, gas and chemical projects.

“I’ve been blessed to have worked with many extremely talented people and exposed to many diverse opportunities in my more than 20 years at Burns & McDonnell,” Phillips says. “I’m excited to now lead our Construction team as we continue successfully delivering EPC (engineer-procure construct) projects throughout the region.”

Phillips holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri.
