HOUSTON, Texas — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture and construction firm, has named Jason Hetherington vice president of project delivery for its Oil, Gas & Chemical Group and Randy Satterfield regional manager for the group in the South Central Region.

The leadership appointments position the firm to meet growing demand for increasingly large and complex capital projects while strengthening the firm’s integrated engineer-procure-construct (EPC) capabilities along the Gulf Coast and beyond.

Their leadership will help us continue delivering projects safely, consistently and predictably.”

In his new role, Hetherington will oversee project delivery across all Oil, Gas & Chemical Group offices and projects. He will focus on advancing consistent execution practices, strengthening project delivery teams and promoting proven approaches that support safety, quality, cost and schedule certainty throughout the project life cycle.

Hetherington began his Burns & McDonnell career as an intern before joining the firm as a mechanical engineer in 2005. Within six months, he relocated to Borger, Texas, for his first field assignment, beginning a career grounded in construction and safe project execution. He has since served in numerous project and leadership roles, including construction turnover coordinator, project engineer, EPC project manager, business unit leader and operations manager.

Since relocating to Houston in 2024, Hetherington has led the Oil, Gas & Chemical Group’s regional operations and supported the delivery of complex EPC projects across the Gulf Coast.

Satterfield succeeds Hetherington as regional manager for the Oil, Gas & Chemical Group in the South Central Region, based in Houston. He is one of the foundational leaders who helped establish the firm’s Oil, Gas & Chemical business along the Gulf Coast more than 19 years ago.

Throughout his career, Satterfield has held a variety of project and operational leadership roles. He served as project manager for the Houston team’s first Oil, Gas & Chemical EPC project and most recently served as vice president and engineering director for the group in the South Central Region. His extensive experience and understanding of the region’s people, projects and clients will support the continued growth of Burns & McDonnell construction and EPC services throughout the Gulf Coast.
