FORT WORTH, Texas (October 27, 2016) — After growing locally by 540 percent since opening regional offices in North Texas in 2010, Burns & McDonnell is moving its Fort Worth office to the Pier 1 Imports building to accommodate its flourishing workforce. The 118-year-old global engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting firm is positioning for rapid expansion over the next five years that could increase its more than 80-person staff in Fort Worth by another 200 percent.
“We are committed to bringing new jobs to the Fort Worth area and providing our clients with the top talent in our industry,” says Scott Clark, vice president and general manager of the Dallas-Fort Worth regional offices.
Clark, who has called the Dallas-Fort Worth area home for nearly 30 years, says the move to the more than 22,000-square-foot office space is reflective of Burns & McDonnell’s unyielding efforts to be the best place to work in the country. The 100 percent employee-owned firm has been recognized as a top workplace in Texas for eight consecutive years, and ranks No. 16 on Fortune’s 2016 list of 100 Best Companies to Work For.
“This is a ‘Class A’ building that provides an incredible work environment,” Clark says. “It has an on-site gym, walking trail, coffee shop and nearby restaurants. Plus, it’s positioned downtown near the vibrant West 7th area making it an easy commute for our employee-owners and clients.”

Burns & McDonnell is inspecting construction in the expansive project that showcases a master plan for the Trinity River in Fort Worth.
In addition to a focus on integrated design-build projects, electrical infrastructure, transportation infrastructure and environmental studies and permitting, the Dallas-Fort Worth offices serve as the national headquarters for the firm’s OnSite Energy Group, which builds on decades of diversified experience in energy and power projects.
