CHICAGO, Illinois — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, construction and architecture firm announced three key leadership appointments in the Great Lakes Region to lead the firm into its next chapter of growth, innovation and client success.
Tim Faber has been promoted to general manager of the region, which includes offices in Chicago; Downers Grove, Illinois; Lexington, Kentucky; Southfield, Michigan, and Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, he will guide more than 750 professionals who provide engineering, procurement, construction, environmental and consulting services to clients across a variety of industries. His role will be effective January 2026, following the retirement of Mike Folta after 31 years with the firm.
Tony Nalli has been promoted to regional group manager for Transmission & Distribution.
Bryan Haas has been promoted to regional group manager for Aviation & Federal.
“These leadership advancements reflect our deep bench of talent and commitment to developing exceptional leaders from within,” says Folta, senior vice president and regional general manager at Burns & McDonnell. “Tim, Tony and Bryan each exemplify the core values that define Burns & McDonnell. They will play pivotal roles in strengthening our range of capabilities and serving our clients across the Great Lakes region.”
Tim Faber — Vice President and General Manager, Great Lakes Region
Tim Faber will lead the Great Lakes Region following his tenure leading the region’s Transmission & Distribution Group. In his prior role, he managed a 300+ person organization that achieved remarkable growth and success over more than a decade across Chicagoland, Detroit and Lexington.
He joined Burns & McDonnell in 2007 and throughout his 18-year career with the firm has held a number of roles with increasing responsibility in Transmission & Distribution, including electrical engineer, design engineer and project manager.
“Our industry is at a pivotal moment. In this time of rapid change, our path to success is through empowering our talented employee-owners to provide sustained value to our clients,” Faber says. “My focus will be on fostering a culture that is humble, hungry and relentlessly focused on results — equipping our teams with the innovative tools and technologies they need to solve our clients' toughest challenges and solidify our role as their indispensable partner.”
Faber earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Oral Roberts University.

Most recently, he served as director of accounts for the Chicago office, supporting enterprise clients and fostering long-term partnerships.
As vice president and regional group manager, Nalli will play an integral role in expanding the firm’s transmission and distribution capabilities and client partnerships. His experience as a leader of multidisciplinary teams, mentorship of emerging professionals and strategic guidance will be instrumental in advancing client success both within the Great Lakes Region and across the firm.
“I’m excited to step into a new chapter of leadership within Transmission & Distribution in the Great Lakes region,” Nalli says. “It’s a privilege to work with our employee-owners to deliver solutions that create impact for our clients and communities.”
Nalli earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University.
