Herrington previously served as a national director of water construction and the director of projects, leading the Water Group’s project management team. As the director of projects, he identified new project management candidates, mentored teams and developed a career track for project management staff. He was also responsible for successful completion and delivery of water and wastewater projects nationally. Serving as the national director of water construction, Herrington was responsible for water construction projects.

“Zach started working for Burns & McDonnell in 2011 and he has been an admirable leader,” says Dan Korinek, vice president and general manager of Denver and Pacific Northwest offices. “As director of projects within the Water Group, he reduced risk, integrated new tools to improve project management and prioritized monthly project reviews. His technical proficiencies and leadership acumen have contributed to successful project outcomes, and our offices will continue to grow under his leadership.”

Herrington received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degree in engineering management from Colorado School of Mines. He also earned an MBA from Florida State University. Herrington is a licensed professional engineer and project management professional.

“Supporting my colleagues in my home state of Colorado and in the Pacific Northwest is an honor,” Herrington says. “I have the unique opportunity to apply different project delivery methods across a variety of market spaces, including electrical transmission and distribution, manufacturing, oil and gas, water, and environmental services. I’m enthused to share my experience with my teammates so we can deliver the critical infrastructure that keeps communities moving."

As Burns & McDonnell offices in Denver and throughout the Pacific Northwest continue to grow and expand service offerings, career opportunities are increasing to meet demand.
