We are designer of record and owner’s representative for a new $55 million-plus, 31-acre athletic and fitness complex on the campus of Regent University. Serving the university’s 14,000 students and beyond, the fitness center will bring indoor and outdoor athletics and fitness together in one place. It will support student-athletes, students, faculty and the surrounding community, as well as providing a venue for regional community events and functions.
The development will feature a fitness and athletic center building with a 2,000-seat NCAA championship sports arena, a varsity weight room and fitness center, team and locker rooms, offices and media spaces, concessions, and a sports medicine clinic. The development will also include a 400-meter track, a multisport soccer field and stadium, baseball and softball fields and stadiums, courts for tennis, pickleball and basketball, and walking paths around the complex.
An inviting atrium, café, student lounge, banquet space, outdoor plazas, walking paths and landscaped gathering areas will extend the complex beyond athletics, creating a vibrant place for students, families and visitors to connect.
As designer of record, we provide comprehensive architectural and engineering leadership across the arena, athletic venues, site, infrastructure and supporting systems. As owner’s representative, our team works alongside the university to promote informed decision-making, facilitate communication among project stakeholders, address challenges, and maintain alignment with the university’s vision, budget, schedule and quality expectations.
Our team works closely with Heartland Construction, the project’s construction manager and contractor, to promote effective coordination between design and construction.
