Our team is the engineer-procure-construct (EPC) partner for BioMADE’s first demonstration-scale facility within its Pilot Plant Network (PPN) initiative, which is accelerating biotechnology commercialization in the United States. BioMADE has a network of more than 300 members across 40 states focused on creating a more resilient supply chain, reshoring manufacturing jobs and producing biobased products.
The 122,000-square-foot facility will transform an existing commercial structure into a flexible, multiproduct, bioindustrial manufacturing environment supporting fermentation and downstream processing (DSP) technologies from lab scale to 25,000 liters, with provisions for future expansion. Focused on chemicals and materials, this facility will offer advanced security and safety capabilities, including the ability to process volatile liquids and defense materials like lightweight composite materials, anticorrosive lubricants, and energetics and energetic precursors.
This inaugural membership-based facility is being developed within a national innovation network and is designed to operate as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), providing a scalable, secure and cost-effective environment to advance biomanufacturing processes. At full build-out, the site will serve as a national model for bioindustrial scale-up, workforce development and technology transfer.
