Energetics Manufacturing Site Expansion

We were the design-build contractor for expansion of an energetics manufacturing site with multiple new facilities spanning approximately 60 acres. The expansion addresses critical manufacturing requirements through a phased building delivery strategy that maintains operational continuity while integrating seamlessly with existing site infrastructure.

The campus includes manufacturing, testing and office facilities supported by shared utilities, centralized infrastructure and coordinated logistics planning across multiple buildings to support a major increase in production capacity.

The project met stringent Department of Defense and FM Global standards and incorporates a diverse range of building types in support of grinding, mixing, casting, curing, machining, assembling and testing of solid rocket motors.

A key feature of the project is its flexible, future-ready infrastructure approach. The infrastructure framework enables facility additions, equipment modifications and operational reconfigurations to occur with minimal disruption and without major infrastructure upgrades.

The project team employed a highly integrated design and construction methodology, leveraging advanced 3D building information modeling (BIM) to coordinate complex equipment-to-building interfaces and streamline project execution. Close collaboration among architectural, engineering and process design teams enabled the successful navigation of challenging site conditions, rigorous safety requirements and budget constraints while maintaining schedule.
