PROJECT

EPC Solar Energy Program

Our team delivered two solar site installations in Iowa via a progressive, integrated engineer-procure-construct (EPC) model. Together, the sites produce 241 MWDC of power, enough to power approximately 40,000 homes annually.

Through EPC delivery, the team streamlined schedules, optimized costs and supported safe project completion. With more than 326,000 hours worked and more than 420 craft workers at peak construction, the projects utilized apprenticeships and other on-the-job training to narrow the regional gap in skilled tradespeople.

Our environmental specialists certified compliance with local, state and federal regulations throughout the design, construction and final restoration phases. Our electrical transmission and distribution professionals spearheaded development of a collector substation and generation tie-in to the grid.

The sites generated economic and environmental advantages through support of local businesses during construction and use of native grasses and pollinator-friendly plants, soil enrichment, and erosion reduction supporting water quality improvement for local watersheds. Both sites, Wever and Creston, achieved Platinum certification through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s Envision framework.
