DENVER — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned environmental, engineering and construction firm announced Karen Simpson will serve as the new environmental leader in the Mountain Region, overseeing a team providing environmental studies, consulting services, remediation and design-build solutions for environmental projects.

Simpson has more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, most recently serving as the overall environmental services lead for an engineering, environmental and construction management firm where she managed air quality, environmental compliance, environmental remediation, environmental permitting and planning teams. Simpson has managed environmental efforts for projects including solar development, transmission lines, substations, gas pipelines and data centers. With a track record of building strong teams and delivering strategic outcomes, she will play a key role in expanding the Environmental Services Group of Burns & McDonnell in Colorado and the Northwest.
