Routing & Siting Studies

A facility’s location or the alignment of a route is just as important as how the project is designed and built.

Our broad experience and exclusive technologies mean we can assess project costs, constructability, environmental sensitivity, land use, easement access and other pertinent factors in the selection of the project site or route better and faster than ever before. We bring extensive local and national experience to your project, with routing and siting professionals well-versed in the complex process of identifying and assessing options.

Once studies identify locations or routes that meet your project goals, we help site your project to minimize public and environmental challenges. Because we provide comprehensive environmental services, we can handle every phase of your project, including initial routing studies, certification, design, right-of-way procurement, permitting and construction.

Facilitating Expedited Route Evaluations

Our team seeks out innovative ways to reduce complexity and compile large quantities of data that affect the routing process so that we can complete and document it more efficiently and effectively. Our process, known as Route Analysis Powered by Intelligent Design (RAPID), automates and accelerates the identification, analysis and documentation of preliminary routes for linear projects. Working across multiple programs and technology platforms using readily available digital datasets from various agencies and sources, it augments the detailed analysis and interpretation of our experienced routing specialists.

We can also deliver a custom-drafted report for your selected routes, documenting the data collected, study area characteristics, methodologies, route identification and analysis, recommended route rationale and impacts, mitigation recommendations, and potential permit requirements.

By employing RAPID, our specialists can provide route analyses faster, with a greater emphasis on the factors that are most important in your linear project.
