Engineering Design, Procurement & Construction Phase Services
We deliver gas transmission services via multiple project delivery methods, from design only to comprehensive engineer-procure-construct (EPC). Regardless of the chosen method, our construction phase services inform all other key project phases, from estimating to design. Our work can include project controls, project management, bid phase management, contract administration and construction management. We also provide construction support for gas distribution projects, including constructability reviews and site visits.
Our engineering design, procurement and construction phase services for gas distribution range from design and program management for main replacement to gas modeling and design for system expansion. For transmission pipelines and facilities, we cover the full spectrum from route studies, cost estimating and front-end engineering to detailed design and construction for replacements and new installations. Our experience covers everything from small replacements in dense urban environments all the way to cross-country pipelines.
Permitting & Land Acquisition
Permitting and land acquisition are key to progressing your pipeline project from design to construction. We have deep and broad experience in both environmental and non-environmental permitting. From county and municipal rights-of-way to state roadway and rail crossing permits, we identify needs in the early design phases to minimize construction delays and costs. Our experience spans turnkey siting and routing, environmental studies and permitting and overall permitting program support to meet U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements. Our staff includes wetland specialists, biologists, cultural resource specialists and air permitting specialists.
Our team has experience effectively integrating community outreach and land acquisition services on small initiatives and large linear projects that traverse multiple communities/wards and thousands of property owners. Our staff is qualified to handle project stakeholder management as well as a variety of local land acquisition services including right-of-entry permissions, title research, easement drawings and property owner negotiations.
We also provide system planning, design and construction management experience for natural gas storage, including underground and liquefied natural gas (LNG) peak-shaving facilities. Our experience includes LNG process design and construction as well as pipeline modeling and design services for facilities to support injections and withdrawals including compression, meter and pressure regulators, and dehydration.
Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)
Our renewable natural gas (RNG) experience includes feasibility studies and system design to collect methane from biomass and process for insertion into natural gas distribution systems. Our digester experience and pipeline knowledge allow us to support all aspects of RNG projects.
We provide analysis and optimization of distribution and transmission integrity management programs and associated risk models. Our experience includes the review of pipeline records and data to confirm the maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) of line segments for newly constructed or legacy pipeline systems. We provide project and program management services for external and internal corrosion direct assessments (ECDA/ICDA) and hydrostatic testing for new or legacy pipeline systems. Our in-line inspection (ILI) services include ILI capability studies, launcher/receiver design and installation, execution plans, and overall project and program management.
Compressor Stations, Interconnects & M&R Stations
Our design, procurement and construction phase services include support for compressor stations, metering and regulating (M&R) stations and pipeline system interconnects. We cover reciprocating engines, turbine engines, and dehydration and cooling systems for compressor stations, and we can also provide noise and air modeling and permitting services associated with these facilities. Our M&R experience is specific to natural gas transmission pipelines and distribution systems, including support for city gate stations and related equipment — pressure reduction systems, gas quality monitoring equipment, meters, filter separators, line heaters and odorization. We also analyze client systems for overpressure protection (OPP) needs and develop retrofit projects to address system risks at interconnects and gate stations.
