The minerals value chain includes everything from the mining of important minerals and subsequent mineral processing to the construction of factories and facilities that will use those inputs to support innovative and sustainable technologies.
Why Mineral Processing Matters
Demand for critical minerals has grown rapidly. They are essential for manufacturing everything from batteries for electric vehicles to solar panels, data centers, defense components and more. With rising demand for those products, there’s a growing emphasis on clean energy production and efficient manufacturing. Efforts have concentrated on reducing energy consumption and emissions, improving manufacturing efficiency, and reclaiming minerals from waste streams. We are well positioned to help you successfully support the future of energy.
Why Burns & McDonnell?
Our multidisciplinary team has a strong, diverse resume in mining, chemicals, material processing, renewable power, battery storage and water systems. We are involved in every aspect of the minerals supply chain, from extraction to pretreatment and mineral processing, as well as advanced manufacturing and recycling.
We understand the nuances of implementing first-of-a-kind technologies and combining multiple licensor scopes into an overall design. Our long history as a technology-neutral partner and an integrator of balance of plant systems and infrastructure gives us the broad experience you need to close technical and scope gaps and deliver a predictable project.
Our full-service capabilities go well beyond technology integration and process facility design, extending as far as integrated engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project delivery. We can also support you with site selection and development, remediation, utility interface, environmental permitting, substation design, water and wastewater design and treatment, logistics and storage, and construction site configuration.
