Coal, natural gas and other natural resources provide plentiful fuel for existing and next-generation power plants. Whether your plant needs maintenance or an upgrade, our team is ready to meet your needs. Our integrated, turnkey services cover your entire project cycle, from planning through development, engineering, construction and commissioning.
Our focus is on finding successful solutions all along your project cycle, seeking efficient and cost-effective features, systems and processes to provide safety for your employees, consistency for your customers and return on investment for your owners.
In addition to our decades of coal plant design experience, we recognize the increasingly important role of natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). We deliver solutions that accommodate and embrace market adjustments and advancements. Our experience ranges from aero derivatives to the largest frame‑class combustion turbines and reciprocating engines. Our expansive portfolio includes forward-looking generation facilities with integrated, optimized solutions such as air-cooled condensing, inlet chillers, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) and low-noise design.
During the past decade alone, our multidisciplinary team has been involved in more than 30 gigawatts of gas-fired generation projects — as owner’s engineer, design engineer and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) contractor. We can develop, design or modify any plant, delivering microturbines, reciprocating engines, emerging-class frame turbines, advanced-class gas turbines and more.

Power Station Expands Natural Gas Generation Capabilities
Burns & McDonnell
SaskPower’s new natural gas power station is needed to support Saskatchewan’s generation demands and integrate additional renewable generation into the utility’s system. Based on a successful track record at the Queen Elizabeth and Chinook power stations and through a competitive process, our firm was selected to execute the design and construction of the next natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant for SaskPower.
