Our self-perform construction capabilities, available through our open-shop construction arm or our union subsidiary, AZCO, give us flexibility to control the critical path to construction. Our multidisciplinary in-house professionals also can provide packaged solutions that incorporate permitting, buildings, interconnections and more.
Regardless of scale, we can guide your gas and heavy industrial power initiative through regulatory uncertainty, emerging technology integration — including carbon capture and hydrogen — and supply chain challenges. We have more than 1,200 professionals who work on gas generation projects, from 3-D modeling to design to integrated engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project delivery. We have worked in extremely challenging EPC environments, finding solutions that meet your budget, schedule and space limitations.
Our AZCO subsidiary also brings extensive pipe fabrication and truckable module capabilities, managing long-lead construction items. Our shops can complete pipe fabrication in a range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel and alloys. Our skilled craft can assemble the completed components in the shop, gaining efficiencies in the field. We have the capacity to deliver up to 600 spools per week, with just-in-time scheduling to improve safety and control costs at the project site.
How We Deliver New Generation and Repowering
As expectations for increased power reliability grow in response to weather events, renewable generation gaps and growing demand, gas generation can fill the gaps. Our team has extensive experience with new generation simple- and combined-cycle plants as well as repowering coal plants with gas. Since 2000, we have been involved in gas turbine projects with an aggregate capacity of over 63,000 MW.
Our vast experience ranges from aeroderivatives to the largest J-class and advanced-class combustion turbines to reciprocating engines. Many of our recent generation facilities have integrated optimized solutions such as air-cooled condensing, inlet chillers, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) and low-noise design.
Advanced-Class Combustion Turbines
The challenges intrinsic to advanced-class turbines are unique. Our project experience has equipped us to conquer these challenges. We have worked with advanced-class models from development through construction, executing procurement, engineering, construction and startup tasks for simple-cycle turbines with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for NOx control.
